Jack Kerr Memorial Lecture

£3

Award-winning historian and broadcaster, Bettany Hughes, presents an epic new biography of Istanbul - the city with three names – Byzantium, Constantinople, Istanbul, the gateway between the East and the West, and between the North and the South, which served as the capital of the Late Roman, Byzantine, Latin and Ottoman Empires.
Using the very latest archaeological techniques and finds Bettany brings back to life the story of the city’s inhabitants across 8000 years. The event begins with a wine reception, followed by Bettany’s lecture, after which she will be available to sign copies of her new book on Istanbul.
