To celebrate NI Science Festival 2017, Exploris is hosting a series of events and activities to engage and captivate our visitors on The Natural World!

Microscopy Workshop
Discover the microscopic beasties in our precious seawater and get up close and personal with planktonic predators, while learning just why our water is the colour it is when compared to tropical seas.
Marine Experiments
Check out how mussels filter food from the passing water and how plastic pollution is affecting Strangford Lough.
Talks on Animal Adaptations
There will be several talks around the unique environmental adaptations of different groups of animals to ensure their survival, including: reptiles, birds (raptor group), amphibians, fish, invertebrates and mammals.
Arts & Crafts
Get crafty and make your own marine mask or wooden spoon animal.
Budding Marine Biologists and Zoologists Dissection Demonstration*
Enjoy a guided tour, touch pool demonstration and reptile display with our aquarists while getting up close and personal with our natural collections. You could even experience a live dissection of a squid or a fish!
The Sea at Night*
A guided tour of our native and tropical displays, including snippets of natural world videos, followed by a reptile encounter. The tour is followed by a lecture on the Natural World and concludes with a light supper in the restaurant.
