The NISF roadshow is a free event bringing a taste of the 2017 Festival to families all across the province! 
The roadshow will visit Dungannon (16th) - South West Regional College, Enniskillen (17th) - South West Regional College, Newry Southern Regional West (18th) and Coleraine (19th) consisting of a number of scheduled shows and on-going interactive activities including...
• A Celestial Journey (10am, 12.30pm & 3pm)
Robert Hill of NI Space Office will be presenting his popular 3D show, A Celestial Journey. This show will bring the viewer on a journey to discover what its like to live & work on the International Space Station, witness the birth of our solar system, discover how we explore space and take a flying visit over Mars. A must for fans of Tim Peake
• Exploding Vegetables & Other Fuels of the Future (11.15am, 1.45pm & 4.15pm)
An interactive, explosive, event by NI Science Festival favourite Scientific Sue! This show looks at climate change, human influences on the environment and current alternatives to fossil fuels in fun and unique ways.
• Stargazing in the Portable Planetarium (Quarter past every hour)
Armagh Planetarium will be providing presentations on the wonders of the universe and star gazing sessions within their spectacular inflatable dome!
On-going activities:
• Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI)
AFBI will be running a botanical crime scene investigation experiment for families. Come and see how scientists tackle a plant disease outbreak by testing samples and then taking action to combat it.
• Animal Handling Sessions
Animates will hold handling sessions with exotic & endangered species. These sessions will run alongside their on-going interactive activities featuring associated artefacts to promote conservation and ethical awareness.
• Ballinderry Rivers
Ballinderry Rivers Trust will bring their 2m x 1m “River in a Box” geomorphological model to the roadshow to illustrate the principles and factors which influence the course of a river eg. gradient, erosion, sediment, water cycle, etc. The team will also run activities including freshwater bug identification and their use as indicators for water pollution.
• The Science of X-rays
Louise Sarri, the NI Science Festival Medical Physics Intern, presents activities and demonstrations based on the electromagnetic spectrum and everyday usage of different types of EM waves, including X-rays. 
• STEM Module
The STEM Module is a bespoke mobile laboratory and workshop used for STEM outreach and engagement in schools across Northern Ireland. The unit will be equipped with a variety of STEM technology including 3D printers, high resolution digital microscopes, scanning electron microscope, CNC routers and more!
• Popping Chemistry
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) will be running simple experiments to promote scientific observation and recording skills. The primary experiment revolves around the evolution of carbon dioxide under different conditions using effervescent vitamin C tablets and water. Visitors to the NISF Roadshow will also have hands-on experience with Spectrometer in a Suitcase to introduce the basics of spectrometry and analysing simple samples.
• Ulster Wildlife
Ulster Wildlife's Red Squirrels Conservation Team will be on hand across all the roadshow venues with interactive activities and information/ education stands to help understand what we can all do to preserve our natural world. The Ulster Wildlife's Living Seas team will also join the Newry and Ballymena. 
• Bricks4kidz workshops
Bricks4kidz will present two on-going activities throughout the entire Roadshow. The first is the STEM Lego workshop where visitors will use Lego Technic to create a whole array of functioning models. The second workshop is with the air-drying clay, Clayrazy. Visitors will have the opportunity to make their own specific model to take home and keep!
