The Institute of Physics is proud to present an afternoon of wide-ranging conversation with two esteemed physicists, Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell and Professor Jim Al-Khalili.
Born in Belfast, Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell is an astrophysicist and is best known for her discovery of pulsars — rotating neutron stars that appear to ‘pulse’ since the beam of light they emit can only be seen when it faces the Earth. Her observation, made together with her supervisor, Antony Hewish, is considered to be one of the greatest astronomical discoveries of the twentieth century.
Join Jocelyn as she discusses her life and work in science with physicist, author and broadcaster Professor Jim Al-Khalili.
