Our native red squirrel is under attack from disease, the loss of woodland and the introduction of its larger cousin, the grey squirrel. Over the last 100 years, populations of red squirrel have dropped so severely that they are now classified as Near Threatened in Northern Ireland. One way which we can help this beautiful creature to survive is by planting more of our native trees.
Join our ranger team for a day of tree planting to help save the native red squirrel – you never know, you might even catch a glimpse of one!
Please note: Physical work is involved in this event. Bring lunch. Suitable clothing and footwear is essential.
